Tree & Shrub Care

Professional Tree & Shrub Care in Southern Idaho

Trees and shrubs are an important part of your landscape, adding shade, beauty, privacy, and value to your property. However, insects, disease, and nutrient deficiencies can quickly affect their appearance and overall health. Idaho Spray Service provides professional tree and shrub treatments designed to protect your landscape and help it thrive throughout Southern Idaho’s growing season.

Different trees and shrubs face different challenges, so treatment should never be one-size-fits-all. Our team considers the plant species, its size, the season, and the specific insect, disease, or health concern before recommending a service. Depending on your landscape’s needs, treatment may include tree spraying, dormant oil, deep-root feeding, insect control, or preventative fungicide applications. We will never apply something that isn’t needed.

Our Tree & Shrub Services

Dormant Oil

Applied in February or March, dormant oil helps control overwintering insects and eggs before they become active in the spring. This treatment is used on appropriate deciduous trees and shrubs while they are still dormant. Timing is important because the application must be completed before new leaves and flowers begin to open.

Tree & Shrub Insect Control

Our seasonal insect-control applications help protect ornamental trees and shrubs from common pests such as aphids, earwigs, spiders, and boxelder bugs. Treatments are scheduled throughout the growing season according to pest activity, weather conditions, and the needs of your landscape. Customers enrolled in our full tree-care program also receive a complimentary spider-barrier application.

Fruit Tree Applications

Fruit tree treatments generally begin about 10 days after the flower petals have fallen. Additional applications may be recommended every four to five weeks, depending on the type of fruit tree and the pest pressure. Spraying must stop before harvest according to the required product interval. We will help you understand the recommended timing for your trees.

Deep-Root Feeding

Deep-root feeding delivers nutrients directly into the soil around the root zone, where they can be absorbed by the tree or shrub. This service can support healthier foliage, root development, and overall plant strength. Results are not immediate and may take one to two months to become noticeable. Deep-root feeding is typically performed during the spring or fall.

Preventative Fungicide Applications

Preventative fungicide treatments can help protect susceptible pine trees from certain diseases. These applications are usually completed in the spring and require careful timing around the appearance of new growth. The first treatment is followed by a second application approximately 14 to 21 days later.

Fungicides cannot repair needles or growth that have already been damaged. Their purpose is to protect healthy new growth and help prevent the disease from spreading. Because timing matters, customers may be asked to watch their trees for signs of new growth and contact our office when it begins.
